Kabul attacks planned in Pakistan: Afghanistan

KABUL: Afghanistan’s intelligence department on Saturday alleged that a series of deadly attacks against foreign targets in the capital had been planned in Pakistan. After arresting four militants who were involved in the attacks, the National Department for Security (NDS) alleged that the attacks were planned from Pakistan, where the Taliban have sanctuary. The militant group was involved in five suicide attacks against foreigners in Kabul, including on the Indian embassy last year and another in February on a guest-house used by Indian nationals. Scores of people, many of them Afghans, were killed. “This group either managed to flee or went into hiding, but have been arrested now,” the NDS spokesman said. reuters
